Lord, Lead us from Falsehood to Truth!

The latest news is that US President Donald Trump had spoken 30,573 lies during his previous tenure. During the first month of his second term, he has spoken 13 significant lies, according to the media. Our Indian scenario is more frightening than the US. Almost all political leaders, especially of the ruling BJP, lie endlessly. Modi is convinced of his policy - "jhooth bolo, jhooth bolo, jhooth bolo" (lie, lie, lie)! The finance minister presents the Union Budget, often a "bundle of lies." The minister for external affairs tells lies about India's foreign policies. The minister of defence tells lies about India's border. The minister for home affairs rarely speaks the truth.

As human beings, we all have a deep desire for truth. Whether in our personal relationships, professional lives, or spiritual journeys, we long for authenticity and honesty. Yet, in a world often filled with deception and half-truths, it can be difficult to discern what is truly real and what is not. That's why the prayer for truth is so essential.

O Lord, we know that the world is filled with lies and deceit;

Our leaders keep telling lies after lies and take us for a ride.

They make jumlas (empty promises) before every election.

Help us to see clearly and to discern what is right and what is wrong.

May we not be led astray by the cunning words of those who seek to deceive us.

Open our eyes, Lord, and give us the ability to recognise the lies and manipulations presented to us.

Help us to be alert and vigilant always and everywhere.

We pray for the leaders of our nation.

Grant them godly wisdom in every decision they make.

Help them lead with integrity, compassion, and a sense of justice.

Surround them with godly counsel, and give them the humility to listen and learn.

May our leaders write and pass laws that uphold justice, fairness, and the dignity of every person.

Let fairness prevail in every law, policy, and decision our leaders make.

May they stand for what is right, even when it is difficult.

We pray for an end to corruption, dishonesty, and greed.

We pray that the systems of our government reflect your righteousness.

May those in authority be guided by fairness and truth, always seeking justice for all people.

Remove corruption and greed, and instil in our leaders a desire to serve with integrity.

Let justice and righteousness flourish in our land.

Protect our nation from the grip of corruption.

Those in leadership positions fall into dishonesty and greed.

We pray that you root out corruption wherever it is found.

May our leaders be held accountable, and may they serve with integrity.

We pray for the economic well-being of our nation.

Bless our industries, businesses, and workers.

Give our leaders wisdom in making financial decisions.

May there be opportunities for all to prosper and use resources without fear and discrimination.

We bring before you the vulnerable and homeless in our nation.

Provide for their needs and help them find shelter, food, and support.

Use us as instruments of your love to care for those in need.

May our nation become a place where no one is left behind or forgotten,

May everyone be treated with dignity and compassion.

We pray for integrity to reign at every level of government.

May those who serve in positions of authority do so with honesty and transparency.

Remove any corruption, dishonesty, or deceit from our leaders.

Let truth and integrity guide their decisions.

We pray for leaders who are committed to serving the people.

Let your light shine in every dark corner and expose wrongdoings that harm our nation.

We pray for the protection of religious freedom in our nation.

Let every citizen have the right to worship you freely, without fear of persecution.

Let no laws be passed that restrict the practice of faith.

As we face challenges such as illness, pandemics, and mental health struggles,

we ask for your healing hand to be upon us.

Guide healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers.

May they work to improve the health of our citizens.

May we prioritise the well-being of one another.

May your healing power flow through our land.

We pray for the protection of our children.

Guard them from harm, both physically and spiritually.

May they grow up in safe, loving environments where they are nurtured.

Protect them from negative influences, and lead them on paths of righteousness.

We place the education system of our nation before you.

We pray for students, teachers, and administrators.

Guide them in their pursuit of knowledge and truth.

May schools be places of safety, growth, and inspiration.

Equip teachers with patience and insight.

Help students to learn and grow in wisdom.

May our education system reflect your truth and values, preparing the next generation to become enlightened leaders.

We pray for protection from natural disasters that threaten our nation.

Keep us safe from storms, floods, earthquakes, and fires.

Give wisdom to those in charge of disaster preparedness,

and help communities be resilient in these challenges.

We pray for the protection and preservation of the environment.

Help us to be good stewards of the earth, caring for the land and all resources.

Give our leaders the wisdom to enact policies that protect the environment.

Help us all to make choices that honour your creation.

May we safeguard the world for future generations.

Break down the walls of division and prejudice,

Let love and understanding flourish in our hearts.

May we live harmoniously, celebrating our differences

while standing together as one nation.

Lord, lead us from unreal to real;

Lead us from darkness to light;

Lead us from evil to goodness;

Lead us from sickness to health;

Lead us from desperation to prosperity.
