Ms Liz Mathew
Deputy Editor of The Indian Express.

Spanning nearly three decades of distinguished service, Ms Mathew's career exemplifies courage, integrity, and an unyielding commitment to truth in public service journalism. From her early beginnings with Deepika to her influential reporting for India Abroad, Indo Asian News Service, Newsroom, Asian News International, and Mint, she has embodied the dynamic evolution of modern Indian press and digital media.

As one of India's premier political correspondents, Ms Mathew has chronicled the nation's democratic journey with remarkable depth, incisive analysis, and unwavering independence. Through her widely acclaimed weekly column, Capital Context, she offers readers vital insights into the political forces shaping Indian society. Beyond the newsroom, her active engagement with youth fosters informed public debate and democratic literacy.
